Bloom Energy
DC Constraints in the AI Era
Reframed data center power from a facilities issue into the strategic AI gating factor — $350M pipeline in five months.
$350M PIPELINE IN 5 MONTHS
Problem
The market treated data center power as a facilities issue — infrastructure, the boring back office. By 2024–25, AI workloads had made power the gating factor for whether a data center could even host a GPU cluster. The market hadn't named it yet.
Approach
Built the "DC Constraints in the AI Era" thought-leadership program — anchored by a 2026 Data Center Power Report, executive briefings with hyperscale and large enterprise prospects, and analyst seeding. Repositioned Bloom Energy from a reactive product story to a proactive solution — the AI availability layer.
Result
$350M in late-stage pipeline with hyperscale and large enterprise prospects in five months. Industry-wide language adoption ("AI availability layer," "time-to-power"). PMM function scaled from zero to a small, high-leverage team.
Role I Played
Built the PMM function from zero. Authored the category narrative and the underlying report. Owned the executive briefing program, analyst seeding, and the cross-functional launch.
